I’ve been playing in the Inter Regional Championship for about 30 years now but still look forward to it and enjoy it every year. It’s by far the biggest in numbers competition on the calendar, but it’s more than that; it’s also the end of season jamboree for the petanque “family”. It’s a great mixture of competitive boules and lots of socialising, involving players from every Region, plus Wales, and that’s what makes the weekend so special.
