Doble, Meadowcroft and Seville Win at Whittlesey GP1

The first round of the hotly contested indoor Grand Prix series at England’s only indoor venue at Whittlesey saw the newly formed triple of Simon Doble (London), Stephen Meadowcroft (Northern) and Dean Seville (Kent) prevail in the final against Herve Bavazzano (Chiltern), Sean Prendergast (Chiltern), Reece Gould (Chiltern) and Dani Soriano (license currently suspended by the EPA).

After 5 rounds of play (randomly drawn snake), these two teams were the only ones on five wins. Team Bavazzano started very strongly to take an 8-0 lead but Team Doble fought back strongly to take the £150 prize money.

The 3rd v 4th playoff was between the Hungarian triple of Karoly Gal, Laszlo Nagy & Gyula Farkas and the all Chiltern team of Matthew Eversden, Jamie Lewis & Jonathan Sewell. Team Eversden ended up victorious.

The next round of the series will take place on 7th December.
